Welcome to the Long laboratory! We are affiliated with the Stanford ChEM-H Institute and the Department of Pathology.
Research
We study mammalian energy homeostasis with a particular focus on discovering new signaling pathways that control energy storage and energy use. Our research combines classical in vitro bucket biochemistry, mass spectrometry-based technologies, and genetic manipulations in cultured cells and in mice. Ultimately, we seek to translate our discoveries into therapeutic opportunities for metabolic and other chronic diseases.
