Jon Long, Ph.D.
Jon Long received his B.A. in biochemistry (2007) summa cum laude from Columbia University in New York, NY. He completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry (2011) at The Scripps Research Institute in the laboratory of Benjamin F. Cravatt studying enzymes involved in mammalian neurotransmission and behavior. Following his Ph.D., Jon moved to Boston first as a postdoctoral fellow and then later as Instructor of Cell Biology in the laboratory of Bruce M. Spiegelman at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. There, his investigated the biochemical and bioenergetic basis of mammalian energy metabolism. Since 2018, Jon has been Assistant Professor of Pathology and ChEM-H Institute Scholar at Stanford University. His research has been supported by funding from the American Diabetes Association and the National Institutes of Health.
